City of Lubbock Solid Waste Department to Host 'Move Out Give Back' Event to Mitigate Illegal Dumping and Promote Reuse

The City of Lubbock Solid Waste Department, in partnership with Texas Tech University, will host the annual Move Out Give Back Program May 7 and May 17, 2025. This initiative helps reduce illegal dumping and promote reuse by providing students and residents with accessible resources during move-out season. Two temporary drop-off sites will be set up to collect reusable items such as hard-surface furniture and small working appliances. We’re also encouraging students to responsibly dispose of damaged or bulky items through these designated locations.
