Join us as the Lubbock County Historical Commission presents a different topic about Lubbock or West Texas history each month. Ages 18+. This month's topic is: "Old Man Singer": A New Look at Lubbock County's Most Famous Citizen of the 1880s. George W. Singer's store in Yellow House Canyon has been referred to as "the birthplace of Lubbock" and Singer is often noted as "the father of Lubbock County." This presentation is a reexamination of Singer and his activities on the South Plains. Presented by Dr. Paul H. Carlson.
