Request Speed Limit Change

After a citizen request for a speed limit change the Traffic Engineering Department will conduct speed counts and determine the 85th percentile speed. If a change in the speed limit is warranted, the City Traffic Engineer will present the change request and warrants to the Citizen’s Traffic Commission (CTC) and the City Council for approval. After two readings of the ordinance change, ten (10) days must elapse before new signs with the new speed limit are installed.
