The Lubbock Senior Center will be hosting their annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Local agencies and businesses will be available to provide tips and information on many healthcare and fitness topics including: nutrition, fitness, healthy habits, medications, exercise, scams, caregivers and coping with chronic illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. This event is free to the public.
The 22nd Annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day is the nation's largest annual health promotional event for older adults with activities in all fifty states typically on the last Wednesday in May and falls during Older Americans Month. The common goal for this day is to help keep older Americans healthy and fit.
Lubbock Senior Center is located at 2001 19th Street. Hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays-Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information, call Lubbock Senior Center at (806) 767-2710.
