Texas-born, “painter of light,” Henry Salley teaches workshops in portraiture, landscape, still life and with several media including: oil, acrylics, pastels and charcoal. Henry Salley is well known for teaching special needs classes, where he enables his students to explore and appreciate their own unique vision. He also pushes his students to make the best possible work, so they may surpass their preconceived skill level.
Henry Salley did graduate work both in the US and in England. His mentors are Paul Miloesvich, Roman Kelly, Doug Dawson, Ben Konis, Bob Rohm, and Richard McKinley. He is known for his approach to painting as “color values and temperatures of light.” Salley is a member of: The Southwest Pastel Society, the Lone Star Pastel Society, and the Art League of West Texas and New Mexico.
