Join us as we kickoff the start of a brand new school year! Mae Simmons Community Center and Lubbock County Voices Coalition/Starcare will be hosting their 5th Annual Back 2 School Kickoff and Zero Alcohol Youth Conference (Z.A.Y.C.) on Saturday, August 23, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Participants will enjoy hot dogs sponsored by Sonic Drive-In, live music, giveaways, information booths and backpacks with school supplies for the kids! This event is free, and all ages are welcome to join in the fun!
A big thank you goes to Amerigroup who has contributed 1,000 backpacks for this event. We are also grateful to the many local businesses and organizations that have generously contributed school supplies to fill the backpacks. Backpacks will be given away to children and youth in Grades K-12. Children must be present to claim their backpack.
